The night of my graduation my mom threw a pinterest worthy grad party for me. It was so beautiful and so much fun that I thought i'd share it with you all. First of all, I want to show you the brains behind this operation. This is my mom and I the morning of graduation:
And now that I've shown you the brains I should probably show you all of her hard work!

There were twinkly lights all above the yard but unfortunately I didn't get a picture but it was beautiful! Also, shout out to my dad for cooking some wonderful food! Love ya both!

What's in my car?

Holy-cow guys! I have a car now! Now i just need to work on getting my license. Because I now have a car I thought I'd share with you what I plan to keep in it.

First off: this is my car. She doesn't have a name yet, what do you guys think?

It's always nice to have the parents side of things because they've been through it all. They know what you need and what you don't need so my first list of what I am going to keep in my car.
What my parents say you always need to keep in your car:
- A flashlight: if you need to change a tire at night this should come in handy.
-A blanket: you never know when you might need to sleep in your car or you are stranded somewhere.
-A pair of old shoes: dontcha think it'd be a little hard to change a tire in high heels?
-Water: both my parents always have water bottles in their car.
-A water resistant jacket: rain, sleet or snow, you'll probably need one of these at some point, grab an old jacket and throw it in your trunk.
-An umbrella: how many times have you had to park at the back of a parking lot in the pouring rain? Nip that issue in the bud and keep an umbrella in your car at all times.

Now, here are the things that I think are necessary to keep in my car for my own "Emergencies".
What I plan to keep in my car:
-Car phone charger: these days our phones are life lines, they are soooo important in emergencies and they need to stay charged.
-List of emergency numbers: If indeed your phone does die you need some emergency contact numbers that you wouldn't have without your phone's contact list. My list has numbers ranging from my mom to my cousin's best friend. You never know who you may need to call.
-Hygiene things: by this I mean hand sanitizer, tissues, dental floss, mini deodorant, tampons, really anything you think you may need hygiene wise.
-Medicine: I don't know about you but i have really bad allergies in the spring, and sometimes i forget to take my medicine so i'm going to keep some in my car. Throw whatever medicine you may need in your glove box for emergencies.
-Sunglasses: this one is pretty self explanatory, driving in the sun is no fun.
-Bobby pins and hair ties: crazy hair days can come out of nowhere, always be prepared to tame your mane, or ya know let it go wild. Do what you want.

2 Step Bikini Body

A reminder as "Bikini Season" is coming up, no matter what your body size or type you have a bikini body. If you want to wear a bikini but don't think you have a "Bikini Body", go against society's standards and rock that bikini girl (or guy if that's what you want, I mean go for it)! No one can tell you what you can and can't do! As long as you aren't hurting anyone else or yourself, wear, say, whatever you want! Be who you are and have no regrets!
Have a great day!

March is Autism Awareness Month!

March is autism awareness month, something that is very near and dear to my heart. Now before I get started I have one very important thing to say: Autism is not a devastating disease that is a burden to others that needs to be cured. Autism is an intellectual developmental disease (or IDD) that can cause some difficulties in life, but our goal at this time should be how to make life for individuals with IDDs the best that it can possibly be.
Some companies, like Autism Speaks, that play a huge role in autism awareness month go about it the completely wrong way. Autism speaks sounds like it would be real people with autism talking about what it's like to have autism right? In reality Autism Speaks does not have a single person with autism or any IDDs on their board of directors, or anything. Sounds kind of fishy right? Autism Speaks is also a company that views autism as a burden that needs to be cured, like I said before. Please do some research if you decide to participate in Autism Awareness Month, a GREAT company to donate to would be Best Buddies.
Best Buddies is an organization that creates one-to-one friendships between people with special needs and people without in high schools, middle schools, colleges, and even online. I am very involved in the best buddies chapter at my school and I have made some of the best friends that I could ever have. Best Buddies is a wonderful, wonderful organization that deserves so much praise for all the hard work that they do; I can honestly say that they have changed my life. Plus! They get bonus points for having people with IDDs that work for them. Another bonus is that they recognize all IDDs, and not just autism. They change lives every day please check them out!

Here are some of my best friends that I could have never made without Best Buddies!
Have a great day everyone!!
